QUICK 10 WITH.....MEDWAY TIGERS

 

Medway is an area in Kent consisting of towns such as Rochester, Gillingham, Chatham, Strood and Rainham.

The area is dominated by Rochester but was an important naval dockyard and military stronghold with establishments at Chatham and Gillingham. The Royal Marines have a long history with Chatham and have a museum in the town, with Royal Engineers having a headquarters in Gillingham.

The North Kent Marshes make-up part of Medway, an environmentally significant wetlands region with several Sites of Special Scientific Interest.

On a sporting front the only Kent based professional football team, Gillingham, can be considered the top priority in the area but Medway Tigers are eager to change that balance of power.

They just missed out on a playoff spot last season, competing the top level BFFL East Division which also consists of both the British champions and runners-up from 2020 (Essex and Norwich), so a tough division.

The GM is confident of pushing on and making the playoffs in 2021.

The GM of Medway Tigers is Ant and these are his Quick 10 Questions.

1. How did you get involved in the league?

I got invited by the Commish at the very beginning. 

2. What team do you support and why?

Patriots, I chose them when I was 5-ish because they had England on their name 😂

3. How did you get into NFL?

My dad watched it when I was young so I have grown up with it.

4. Who is your favourite player and why?

No player as such, but I do have a couple of Brady jerseys.

5. What is your experience with fantasy football?

The odd league here and there, this last year I have begun to take it a lot more seriously.

6. What are your views on a potential London franchise?

I would love it to happen, but I don't think it ever will.

7. What other hobbies/sports do you enjoy apart from NFL?

I enjoying watching football supporting Liverpool but my passion is fishing.

8. What's your favourite film?

No one film is my favourite but I do love an action movie.

9. What's your favourite music?

Heavy metal/rock. Love the Foo Fighters.

10. Who is your Super Bowl tip this year?

Ravens

The Commish did in fact invite Ant first, he has been a long-time friend of Mrs Commish and both Ant and his good lady plus The Commish and Mrs Commish share a few drinks and curries when the world is normal.
