BFA - WILD THINGS TRADE GIBSON
As they prepare for 2021 they sent Antonio Gibson to the Birmingham Reapers for a 4th round 2021 draft pick. The Wild Things had previously traded their 4th round pick to the Weston Renegades, but now move up in that round to pick at 4.03.
The Birmingham Reapers GM, Phil, immediately met with the press to confirm Gibson is their 2021 keeper at running back.
"We would like to welcome Antonio Gibson to the Reapers as our latest horseman. Bringing youth and vitality to a tired RB room, he instantly cements his place as our keeper for the year. We feel he was a bargain for a 4th round pick in a revitalised Washington Football Team. Sadly, Darrynton Evans is released to create space. A solid prospect who never quite broke through. We wish him all the best in his future endeavours and have every confidence he will succeed. He will always be welcome in Birmingham."
As confirmed by the Reapers GM, Evans now goes into the BFA 2021 Draft pool.
The Reapers will now play in the BFA West for 2021 after their move from Gateshead in 2020.
Over at the Perthshire Wild Things their GM, Mark, spoke to waiting reporters about why Gibson was traded.
"After the acquisition of Aaron Jones, Antonio Gibson became surplus to requirements. Gibson is thanked for his efforts in the 2020 season and we wish him nothing but the best."
Perthshire have certainly been busy in the trading arena whereas this was the first Reapers trade action during this off-season as they begin to re-shape their roster.
